A Letter To My Daughters
Meldy of the publicity department from JoJo Publishing in Melbourne gives me a call about the title. Daughters for You. I also receive an email from Barry Door the Publisher and Julie my Editor. Suggesting A Letter to My Daughters as a better option.
I stop, ask Meldy for time, I know with The Kiss of the King Brown (Self Published) I think I made a mistake because the cover and title scare of many women when in fact it would be a very good read for them. The main character Sean's relationship with his mother is a recurring side issue in the story but an important one. The dynamics of family life is the fifties is also a theme in "Kiss." Great topics and stories for women.
I prevaricate and stall, Wednesday night tea is on so I enter into Dialogue with Maureen my wife and daughters Janice, Alison, Jess (Honorary daughter) They are delighted with the name. Think it is great.
Note: Only Maureen, the editors and one other friend has read the manuscript.
OK settled in my mind I sleep on it and awake fresh and happy in the thought that A Letter to My Daughters is the way to go.
Thank you to JoJo and all the people involved.
