"Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are."

"Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are" or the
Karen Carpenter Enigma

The other day I was talking to a lady who was a beautiful person and very talented, yet one who was so down on herself and full of self loathing and lacking self esteem that she made me cringe.
I thought to myself why does she not love herself, and this is how Karen Carpenter must have been.
If you  to love yourself you will lose that sense of worthlessness, low self-esteem, you will look in the mirror and see someone you love.  Karen Carpenter that beautiful American singer in the Carpenters (Big in the seventies, my song sheet is from the sixties, seventies and eighties) she had everything but she had nothing. Apparently she would look in the mirror and see a fat slob, instead of the beautiful person she was. Her self-loathing and low self-esteem was so bad she starved herself to death. (Anorexia Nervosa)
When you look in the mirror who who do you see?
Make a decision to treat yourself a little bit kinder and with some respect and love today. If you do that it may become a habit, you cannot love others if first you do not love yourselves.
Note: Am doing some research on love, feelings, and self for the book I am writing: Daughters...
