2015 Daffodil & Arts King and Queen John
and Maureen Condliffe
Popular Kyneton
couple, John and Maureen Condliffe will be this year’s Daffodil and Arts King
and Queen.
Their contributions to
the community as a couple has been constant over many years.
The author of two
published books John is at present the Secretary of the Rotary Club of Kyneton
and is President and Treasurer of the Kyneton Angling Club.
Both John and Maureen
have been involved in the Rotary Youth Art Awards and John in the Rotary Youth
Exchange programme. They have both
worked in various groups at Our Lady of the Rosary and the church’s youth
groups and John has served on the Finance Committee.
Whilst a radiographer
at the Kyneton Hospital was a member on the Hospital Board. John currently
works on three days a week as a radiographer for the Office of Corrections and
has previously worked as a radiographer and manager.
In recent years he and
Maureen have conducted a radiography practice employing some 15 others. After
retiring from this business John and Maureen spent four years travelled
Australia working in various places in Queensland, Western Australia and
Tasmania.
Maureen and John has been a
members of Red Cross and Maureen has recently retired from working as a personal carer
at Kyneton Lodge.
Maureen and Johns' close family including four daughters and eight grandchildren live nearby and are a big part of their lives.
They are looking
forward to the Launch Night for the Festival to be held at the Kyneton Mechanics
Institute on Friday 21 August at 7.30pm when they will receive their royal
regalia.
