Sometimes You Need Permission???

Just lived through Easter that great Pagan/Judeo Christian Ritual about Rebirth, Resurrection New Life Rabbits, Eggs, Mythology, Full Moons and Death. We here in the Southern Hemisphere do it reverse about we are coming into our winter not coming out of it. It's the same with Christmas we are at the height of the equinox not at the bottom. But being Australian we have adapted and party on.

That is the point really we need these breaks in routine and habit we need these events that's why we humans created them! Sure we need to mark the passing of the year and time the seasons and all that stuff. But mostly we just need permission to have a good time, to show a different side to be allowed to break free of the conformity of society mores and convention.

It's like when you take your grandchild or niece to a child's movie. You are  really loving it (Despite maybe your protestations)you have permission  to indulge your child side to have fun to let go to enjoy.
All these festival and events we have created are the same. We embrace them what ever they are: Family-Christmas, Chocolate-Easter, Lovers-Valentines Day, Mother-Mothers Day. Etc...We have permission at these times to be different to let ourselves go to find another level...To even show our feelings...


That is why we need them and we would have to invent them all over if they went away.

That is why Cromwell the Puritans and his new Model Army failed to ban Christmas, Why the Communists in Russia could not stop Easter, Why ISIS will never ban the cultural festivals in the land it controls, Why The French revolutionaries could not ban Valentines Day or the other local Feast days.

So enjoy these days or any other special day because you are human you live in a social construct but sometimes you need to break out and be different...Happy Whatever...
